Mundial, aware of its responsibility toward the environment, multiplies its projects intended for environmental preservation, seeking to interact in a healthy manner with nature. By valuing economic and technological development to quality of life, it guarantees a better future for the new generations.

Since everything begins at home, Mundial, through CIMA (Internal Committee for the Environment), disseminates practices, know-how and experience related to environmental and urban issues. With the aim of creating and consolidating in its employees an awareness and stance that effectively contribute toward improvement in overall quality of life. With this, employees are encouraged to discuss, evaluate and create new alternatives for the internal development of reduction, reutilization and recycling of materials used by the company.

A great example is the Selective Collection of Residues that, monitored by evaluations and standardized by the National Environmental Council (CONAMA), creates financial resources to be invested in environmental improvements.

A complete structure for treating residues guarantees Mundial’s compliance with international acceptable standards for effluent emission. This structure is made up of the Effluent Treatment Stations (ETE) for industrial waters from the manufacturing process and the Biological Treatment Stations (ETB), pioneer in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. In addition, an Environmental Management system based on ISO 14000 enables Mundial to control the impact of its activities in the environment.

In partnership with its various customers, Mundial offers a recycling service for knives at the end of their service lives. Users just need to send their no longer used item to the Recycling Center located in the Gravataí Unit, where the materials are separated and sent for the production of new products.

To strengthen even more the ethical principles with the environment and society, Mundial has three eucalyptus and pine farms. For each felled tree, a new plant is planted, permanently guaranteeing nature’s equilibrium. The wood from these forests is used to produce power and steam in its industrial units and packages for its products.

The packages are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), through the green seal, as it is popularly known. With this, Mundial guarantees the raw material’s origin and is the final link between the forest and its customers, connected by producers and responsible consumers.
